Former inmate-turned-activist/entrepreneur, Richie Reseda transformed seven harrowing years in the belly of patriarchal prison culture into a moment of vulnerable leadership and heroism. Through his organization Success Stories, an organization providing “an alternative to prisons that builds safer communities by delivering feminist programming to people who have caused harm,” he teaches toxic masculinity workshops to incarcerated young men. This vocation reduced Richie’s own prison sentence by introducing a bill that became Proposition 57, which allows inmates to earn time off of their sentence by going to rehabilitative programs like Success Stories.

Learn more about Richie, Success Stories and more at his motivating talk on Friday, March 31 at 4 p.m. in King Chapel's African American Hall of Fame.
